Ocean Friends is the first single release from her upcoming debut album out in Nov 2023 and was produced by Ellatronix in collaboration with Elise Reitze-Swensen (one half of duo Feels) at Koori Radio as part of the Koori Radio Artist Residency.

The collaboration was an awesome match, and the music perfectly captures the unique styles of the two producers from Ellatronix's signature flutes, bass lines and vocal sampling techniques to Elise's epic percussion builds and drops. 

Her previous releases have received major Spotify placements and triple j unearthed play and this is a track that not only makes you want to bop but one that also carries an important message.

The story of this song is told through a fun, animated music video which is part one of a four-part narrative-based music video series from her upcoming album Earth Arcadia that pays homage to mother earth, nature’s beauty, and animals.

Ocean Friends follows the journey of Tropical Girl who is the main character of the series. She has a passion for music but after making a mistake while performing she is bullied and booed to the point where she now has a fear of performing on stage. She lives in her own bubble and loves create and listen to music on her own and closes herself off from the world. This bubble gets popped when a ‘cheeky’ little fellow sneaks his way into her heart.

Ellatronix's passion, drive, and motivation to create the story of Ocean friends was inspired by her personal journey of healing related to first nations intergenerational trauma, drug and alcohol abuse, family violence and sexual abuse.

'After so much trauma in my life I have struggled to allow people to get close to me. Every time something happened to me, I created a barrier to protect my heart and feelings. So in many ways Tropical Girl is me.' Ellatronix

Furthermore, this film also explores Ellatronix's journey to becoming vegan which started almost 10 years ago, and is about Tropical Girl taking her rosy coloured glasses off and discovering the different issues that are going on in the world when it comes to sustainability, animal agriculture and the impact this is having on our oceans, land, and skies.

It is through her adventures and personal experiences in the world, Tropical Girl is educated and that's where the truth becomes imprinted onto her soul which is represented through the eye. Written and directed by Nicoleta Marangou and Thalia Skopellos (aka Ellatronix), the song and music video will be the first official release of their motion pictures studio Beyond Summerland Entertainment.

As the directors, they wanted the audience to feel and discover what Tropical Girl discovers. So, what better genre than ‘tropical house’ to explore these layers of the character arc through Tropical Girls journey of healing her connection to herself, the environment, and animals.

There is a tendency for people to try and force change in the world and while the story tackles controversial issues, the story is not intended to make anyone feel bad and it's not about pointing the finger.

The overall message of the film is about love, connection and change. Change will only happen when an individual goes through a personal experience where the truth gets imprinted and written on their heart and soul. It is only through everyone’s desire to change themselves that we will heal ourselves, our connection to each other, the earth, and animals.

The second single and part two of the music video series will be released by mid 2023 with the rest following before the end of 2023.
